Tag&Rename is a versatile application that helps you organize your music files collection using their tag information.

The program supports practically all known audio file formats that support tagging, including MP3, WMA, AAC, M4A, Ogg, WAV, FLAC, and others. Besides, the program supports different tag formats, such as ID3v1, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3, and ID3v2.4. The program also features full Unicode support, so that special characters or characters in other languages are not a problem for Tag&Rename.

The program's user interface, however, may be a bit difficult to understand at first, especially for novice users. It includes three tabs for the three main functions offered by the program, "Rename Files" tab being the first one. As you can imagine, this feature allows you to rename your audio files in batches automatically, using their tag information. The program provides you with several variables you can use to build the file names in the exact way you want them to look like. Those variables include the song's artist, title, album, year, genre, track number, bit rate, duration, and others. Of course, it requires that your audio files carry the right tag information for the program to be able to rename them.

The second tab is "Multiple File Tag Editor", and it allows you to change the tag information of your audio files in batches. The tag fields you can change are the artist, the album, the year, the genre, and the comments. You can select only those you want to change. Finally, the third tab is "Get Tags from File Name". As its name suggests, this function allows you to fill in the tag information of your audio files by taking it from their file names. For this, you need to specify the exact format of your file names, indicating the type of information present on them. The program offers you a file system navigation panel, which is common to the three tabs. This panel allows you to locate easily and quickly the audio files you want to edit or rename.

As you can see, Tag&Rename is a sophisticated tool that allows you to rename your audio files using their tag information ─ and vice versa ─, though its user interface, besides being hard to understand, is also uncolored and little attractive.
